The Low Down on Lace-Ups.

Mixing things up a bit.

BEFORE you scroll down to the rest of the pictures - I found this outfit shoot from last summer, and I couldn't let them go to waste, but I also couldn't get over how now I would definitely being wearing different shoes.  Surprise Surprise.

If I've said it once, or one hundred, a great outfit starts and ends with shoes.

So what would I reach for today?

OK now that you've seen the shoes that I SHOULD be wearing (ugh I kind of just want to cut my shoes off in all these photos) see the outfit...

The current lace-up trend is hot - I've been living in these and these - seen in everything from shoeties to sandals, booties to pumps.  Not to be mistaken for gladiators - in my mind the lace up the calf characteristic and a trend that never quite worked for me, I am obsessed with lace-up shoes.  I think it's the way I can loosely haphazardly unkeptly (new word score) tie them around the ankle, sometimes sideways, backwards, forwards...whatever my mood strikes me.

But really it is the loose ankle wrapped sweet bow that just gets me.  And I think makes them much easier to wear than their gladiator sister.  Oh think if you had a gladiator sister.  Here's another one...this season's choker for the the ankle.  (another blog post to come.)

So start wrapping and put a bow on it ladies.  It's a great way to update your wardrobe and elevate your outfit because they work with everything.  Ok?  Ok.  I'm done.

Here are my faves for lace-ups this season.

  2. Lookin' good as always;). I have to say I am not a shoe person! I have to drag myself out to buy them and I have a really hard time paying for something that just goes on my feet.lol..So the challenge I would give you would to write a blog on how to enjoy shoe shopping. All the in's and outs. :)
