I heart the 90s

I have some serious nostalgia for the 90s, this decade holds a special place in my heart.  You know because I actually wasn't a baby during that decade, I can actually remember most of it.  I just celebrated my 20year reunion folks.  90s is in full effect on my brain.  Rather than focus on my age, I am going to relish in the fact that 90s fashion is reinventing itself and I'm loving it.

What am I loving from back in the day?

The tee under a slip dress.  It makes dresses so much easier, sometimes I just want to be covered up.
For sure chokers.
Add another favorite 90s trend, velvet.
Then there's that moody muted mauvy lipstick.

Stick a fork in me.  I'm done.

I'm sharing this favorite 90s inspired look today to inspire you all to attend the Unzipped Pacific Place event.

If you live in the Seattle area this is my recommendation to you.  Pacific Place is hosting an event next Thursday that is all 90s and a bag of chips, well more like popcorn.  Start with an evening of bubbles and bites, reminiscing and catching up with your favorite pals, a fashion show highlighting the best of the 90s reinvented, photo booth, lashes, add amazing giveaways - ahem Kate Spade - and awesome swag.  As if!  No really it gets better.  Then head into the theatre for a viewing of the cult 90s fashion documentary Unzipped.   The quintessential portrait of Isaac Mizrahi as a young designer in the eve of his 1994 fall fashion show.  We might just get rowdy ladies.

This is memories in the making.  And all proceeds from the ticket sales go to the Rivkin Foundation for Ovarian Cancer.

What a better way to celebrate the 90s.  Get dressed up and make it a night out with your girls.  Rolling with the homies.  You can get tickets here.

dress - WhoWhatWear for Target, borrowed.  Loved it so much that I hunted it down on Poshmark, so there may be future twinning.
bag - Hobo c/o.  find here
shoes - hand me downs, right?  lucky me!
choker - Stella & Dot c/o.  find here
sunglasses - Quay

Just a heads up I will probably be wearing this exact outfit next Thursday.  Unless I can find that yellow plaid school girl skirt with matching blazer.  Anyone else with me?

I'm out.
Kirsty
