current address.

There will be a day in my life years from now that I reminisce about that time I lived 3 blocks from this.  I would hope that in my reminiscing I talk about all the moments we took advantage of and the memories made, embracing the sweetness of this eclectic beach town.  Walking down to the beach in the mornings while it is still quiet, the sweet smell of jasmine {hedge of choice in most parking lots seriously} and plumeria, the funky fabulous beach style that includes my children going barefoot to church, dining alfresco with wonderful new friends while listening to the steel drum band that has set up on the beach boardwalk, hearing the waves crash after my little noisemakers have gone to bed, my lemon tree, welcoming neighbors.  There is a lot in this state that has challenged me and stretched me, irritated me, made me sweat, but hopefully all growing me into the woman I am to be.

As I write this post, I am in Washington, a place my soul rests and yearns for, but dang if I don't know that being outside of my comfort zone is where a lot of life is truly lived.

outfit - its all so old!

mullet tuck maxi {what i wore}

I found this skirt at a Billabong sample sale for 20$.  I love those kind of finds.  Up until now I have worn it much more casually, but I thought I would dress it up a bit more with blacks and nudes.  I think nude shoes are my very favorite right now, they just make every outfit look more chic.  In the spirit of not being matchy matchy, not trying to hard, they work with everything.  "Mullet-tucking" the front of the shirt keeps the outfit from being too frumpy.

these are a couple of my more recent necklaces that I have designed, they have never quite made it to the website, if you are ever interested in a piece please email me, this is how most of my orders happen.  I apologize for not being website savvy.

Also, I have been experimenting with my flat iron that I found at Nordstrom Rack {great spot for random awesome hair supplies} the longer I go without washing my hair, the more tight and dreadlock-like my curls get {we are talking 3-4days max} so I can kind of use the flat iron to relax the hair in front and throughout, it's a messy undone look.

keeping track and trying not to melt {what i wore}

As I write this post its past 8pm and still 88 degrees out, today was a hot hot day.  Besides a few hiccups like getting out of my car to pump gas in my bathing suit, oh dear.  this wouldn't be a big deal if I wasn't 30+ miles from water.  true story.  or impulse buying a Zoku popsicle maker {but I'm stoked to try it out tomorrow!}, we managed to beat the heat.  This is a capital "V" Victory because typically as the heat rises my mood plunges.  Right now the most beautiful treasured moment that I will keep forever is taking place...sitting on our back patio couch, outside, underneath the stars and the full moon {ironically there are soooo many stars in the California sky}, with my two little boys, well passed there bedtime.  My oldest has picked out the books he can "read" aloud himself and my youngest is making up words to his book, while I work on my computer, under our string of glowing lights, with the scent of jasmine flowers wafting our way, you can even hear the waves crashing in the distance during moments of quiet .  This evening is magical.  Thank you California.  Thank you Lord.
