{Healing Field Memorial}

On this 10th anniversary of 9/11, our thoughts and prayers go out to all those who lost someone in this tragic event,  those who risked their lives to help and those still serving for a greater good, and for the safety of our country.

May everyone cherish and enjoy those they love today.

Feature Friday

Feature Friday - so every Friday {or so} I thought we would feature one of our pieces, what inspired, how we are seeing it worn, possibly even offer it on sale...oh the possibilities!

Meet: Caroline

This necklace was inspired by two things, a mens necktie and a spool of vintage grosgrain ribbon I had found at an estate sale.

I don't remember where I was when the idea came to me - its usually at a stop light or in the middle of the night - so my drawings tend to be random sheets of scrap paper, whatever I can find before I lose the idea.

I also liked the idea of making it a little unexpected by wearing the ribbon asymmetrically on the necklace.

When I saw the green Czech glass beads, I was sure that they would be perfect, not quite turquoise, and a hint of that peely-paint-vintage-green-but-a-little-fresher color.

Why I like it {and why I think its been so well received}...

I like the Caroline necklace because its sort of preppy - but not too, with natural brass and gunmetal chain mixed in.

Its also great dressed up with a black dress or dressed down in t's and jeans, but still elevates your style and makes a statement {easily}.   Doesn't Mel look great!

That is my ultimate goal with a piece.

 I LOVE all the comments and pictures my customers have sent, that makes a crazy day so worth it.

and of course Monica - with her cute pink shoes.

Jen and her hub with their sweet dogs.  So honored to be in a family shot!

and a close up in action shot

Its the last month to take advantage of our Kickoff Promotion, email me how you would wear the Caroline necklace {or any lkj piece} and I will send you a code for 25% off our website.  Wouldn't it be fabulous to add the Caroline necklace to your wardrobe at 25% off, I think so.

so that's my first "Feature Friday", hope you liked.

Happy Friday!

Best,
Kirsty

Thrift Store Find

I am so over-the-moon excited about my recent find a the thrift store.  I spotted it wedged between two bookshelves...

My vision for this treasure was to use the frame for a chalkboard that I could use in my office and at shows.  So a little bit of chalkboard paint {I prefer the brush on vs. the spray on}...

{via}

...painted on some plywood.  {3 coats, sanded in between with a lightweight sandpaper, gives the best finish.}

and voila!

Doesn't Ali have the BEST handwriting.  We used one of these chalkboard markers to write on the board.

For now, in my office, I have the chalkboard propped up on a chair, I haven't quite committed to where I want it on the wall, lathe and plaster walls are not forgiving.

Of course I would LOVE to score an old slate chalkboard some day, then maybe I will turn this into a mirror or something, oh the possibilites!

Happy Wednesday.

Best,
Kirsty

Kickoff Winner and Swooning over EmersonMade...

Happy September!  {Can it really be?}

We are announcing this weeks winner a day early {fun blog post coming tomorrow hopefully}
I thought this weeks kickoff promotion winner was so very appropriate as we head back to school, love her description!

Here is what Kathryn said...
"Although I'm still desparately clinging to summer, I went in an Autumnal direction for my outfit.  And for me, Fall still means back to school, so I took inspiration from the mixed chains in the Constance Necklace to assemble a sort of urban Seattle ensemble.  I like the more feminine, flowy tunic paired with more masculine, rain-ready boots.  I wanted the lovely fig hue to be a featured pop of color, offset by a bit of muted tangerine, which is a complimentary color for redheads like me.  In this outifit, I would face my first day back to school feeling chic"

And here is her outfit ensemble using the Constance Necklace and the Small Copper Tag Earrings...

Thank you Kathryn for entering, you have won a pair of Tag Earrings!

To the rest of you, there is still time to enter to win {and you will automatically get 25% off},  but hurry! summer is dwindling away.

Swoon.

Speaking of Fall, have you seen EmersonMade's new pieces for fall?  There are more than a few pieces that I am seriously swooning over, here are just a couple...

{the London Coat}

Wouldn't this coat look great paired with this bracelet...

{the Caroline Bracelet}

Or this super chic power suit....

{the Emerson Black Suit}

maybe paired with this...

{the Estelle Necklace}

EmersonMade has such a great eye for style,  if that wasn't enough, check out Emerson and her husband Ryan's super adorable New Hampshire farmhouse here.

Happy Thursday.

Best,
Kirsty
