TAH DA! 4-Way Friday

If you've caught my posts this week you may have seen that Jenn and I are back at it with a 4-way Friday.  I love this series for multiple reasons...one, it's always more fun with a friend.  Can't you tell?  Always the best bloopers.

Two, we choose something that we are both totally loving and share 4 of the different ways we are wearing it, in our own style and own writing.  I love seeing what Jenn comes up with.  Outfit 1, 2, 3, 4.

Three, showing our followers the versatility of a great piece.  Encouraging you all to think outside the box when it comes to fashion.

This bag is just exactly one of those.  It's a great piece.  I LOVE having my hands free with everything I need, I also love the look of this bag as a belt.  And bonus love, the gal behind TAH bags is stellar too.  Triple Crown.

The details of this bag are very well thought out, from the removable tassel - but seriously who would ever want to remove it?? - to the perfect amount of slots for the necessary cards and ID, to the front flap pocket - both stylish looking and perfect for holding a smart phone.

This is a bag that I have reached for constantly since I got it.  That to me seals the deal.

Thanks for reading, you can see more TAH bag goodness here.

Hope you have a fabulous friday.

best
Kirsty

Less Talk, More Action.

tah belt bag

Well it's been a LONG time since we've done a 4-way, but inspired we are - hey yoda hey - to share how much we are LOVING this belt bag by TAH.

First, who's we?  My dearest fashionista friend Jenn.

Second, what's a 4 way??  Well just what you think it is, ha!  Throughout this week we are sharing 4 ways we are wearing our belt bag on our blogs.  Jenn and I have many similar items in our closet but our own slightly different styles.  Both of us have been wearing this bag ALL THE TIME, like every time we see each other out, we are bag twins.  Love that.  Actually do.  Not like growing up in a small town before there was internet *gasp* and showing up to prom in the same dress as 3 others.

Now I've come to realize it's great minds think alike.

So without further ado, let's just let the photos do the talking.

And these boots do the walking.

Check out Jenn's blog today as well, and then come back Thursday and Friday for even more with our belt bag and TAH.

I know I go a whole week without a post and now 4 in 5 days.  Clearly I have no balance.  So enjoy it!

4-Way Friday with Cocobelle

This week Jenn and I have been sharing how we are wearing our favorite Cocobelle sandals, hoping to showcase their versatility and how effortlessly they finish our summer looks.

You can see our full outfit posts here:  my dress, jenn's dress, black skinnies, red pants.

Cocobelle is one of my go-to brands for summer sandals.   I love the details on their sandals, from subtle to statement, I can always find at least one pair to add to my wish-list.

And I love how a great summer shoe can take the same summer clothes I briefly rocked the previous year well into this summer as well.  Extending the life of my wardrobe and elevating my style at the same time.  I will definitely be sad to put them away once the temps drop.

Thank you for reading our 4 way.  Which look was your favorite?

best,
Kirsty

4-way Friday with Brooks Heritage

street style

This week Jenn and I have had the opportunity to style our new Brooks Heritage Academia sneakers.  Since these shoes go with pretty much everything, and we have been reaching for them constantly, we tried to mix it up a bit.  Choosing outfits that you might not necessarily pair with sneakers.

And I loved the results.  These sneaks took our outfits and elevated them to street style chic.  Think blogger style column of your favorite fashion magazine.  One can dream right?  But seriously mixing with luxe fabrics and unexpected textures, these shoes stepped up to the challenge and then some.

Plus we love Brooks for more than their shoes.  They are a local Seattle company dedicated to protecting the environment and keeping a healthy, thriving company culture.  We dig them for all of this.

Here is our outfit roundup...

outfit #1

outfit #2

outfit #3 and #4

And I think it's worth mentioning again, these sneakers are on sale for $56.  Just saying.  (I'm typically an 8/8.5 and I am wearing an 8.5)

What's your favorite way to wear your sneakers?

Brand Highlight: 4 Ways We Are Loving Kelsi Dagger

I discovered this brand several years ago when I purchased my first pair of platform leopard print wedges.  They have stood the test of time and I still wear them today.  Well not today because it's currently snowing, yay!

Brooklyn based brand Kelsi Dagger evokes smart street style, edgy and urban yet totally wearable, this is a shoe brand that is always on our radar.  KD prides themselves in creating pieces with a heritage soul and a modern edge.  I love the classic meets modern element, I can always count on KD shoes to elevate my style.

Recently Jenn and I had the opportunity to style 4 pairs of Kelsi Dagger shoes from their fall/winter collection.  Here is a round up of how we have been wearing them...

Stacked heel bootie - Suede bootie with croc-embossing, zips in the back and a stacked heel.  These booties have gotten a lot of wear, from big dresses, to my culottes to skirts, to skinny jeans.  I love the modern easy style.

Outfit #2

Court Oxford - this shoe is the best of all worlds with it's menswear-inspired oxford style, adding just a bit of an 1.5 inch heel that keeps it feminine and an extra bit flattering, and the subtle nod to a great bootie with the leather front detail to seal the deal.  These shoes are for sure rad.  They are a great alternative to booties or sneakers to wear with all my skinny jeans.

From Jenn:

Outfit #3 - I am loving the platform/clog/Mary Jane style of these hybrid heels. Perfect when paired with this seasons flared silhouettes (especially when showing some skin with this cropped pair). I've also worn them with opaque tights and a sweater dress, even leggings and a tunic...the possibilities are endless. And, although a high heel, the platform makes them comfortable enough for everyday wear; making them stylish and realistic. And, right now, on major sale! A win, win...win!

Outfit #4 - Loafers are my current obsession this season! I love the menswear-inspired styling but with unique detailing that make them a beautiful, feminine shoe. Simple with skinny jeans and an oversized sweater, classic with a tucked-in blouse, and so easy to dress-up with trousers (like here). My other obsession is a pleated midi-skirt (found here)...these shoes will perfectly translate a skirt into daytime wear. And did I mention comfortable? A slight wedge gives these flats a little lift and makes them completely wearable.

The best part is that Kelsi Dagger is offering 30% off sitewide with code LASTCHANCE30.  shop them all and more below...

Sneaker Chic Week Roundup. 4-way Friday

This week Jenn and I have been sharing 4 ways we've been wearing our new Brooks Heritage Vanguard Sneakers.  Whether dressed up with a blazer and skinny jeans, or heading out in a pleather jacket and culottes, hitting the errands hard in overalls, or taking a stroll through the city in a denim skirt.  These new vanguards compliment so many outfits so well.

I love the rich bold colors and the metallic accents, quilted detailing and the use of not your normal fabric.  These shoes get noticed and help you get your day and night done in comfort.

The kicker about these kicks is price point, so much that I am contemplating the teal, I mean teal.

If you needed an additional reason to purchase, Brooks Running strives to be very intentional in who they are, the company culture includes anytime running breaks - they just happen to be located on a main running/biking trail that runs throughout Seattle, in a building that is LEED platinum certified folks, did you know there was a platinum?!  Read more about it here.

Sneakers sure - but what socks??

A question that often comes up that we have the perfect answer to...  Hands down these are the best sneaker socks either Jenn or I have found.  (Seattlites can find the whole collection at Queen Anne Dispatch.)  They are made of a very thin wool, but not the scratchy kind of wool.  So they are warm but breathable but somehow thin at the same time, and they have the perfect elastic on them, so they stay put.  They don't slide down your heel ever ever ever.  They are discreet in your favorite shoes.  So worth the price tag.  I pretty much hate to wear sneakers or booties without them so much so that I will dig them out of the dirty clothes if needed.  TMI.

Thank you to Brooks for letting us do this collaboration.  We had so much fun and are huge fans of the Vanguard collection.

Sneaker Chic Week. Leather and Culottes.

how to style tennis shoes for going out.

Back with more Brooks Heritage Sneakers love.  And yet another win for my culottes.  I think these sneakers were meant for these jeans.  I also think everyone should jump on this style.

Why do I think this works?   Couple things.  The ankles gotta show.  Bare ankles are subtly sexy in a very appropriate way and very flattering.  So dare to bare some ankles.  Second - the leather jacket appeals to the metallic gold and rich red of the sneakers, a bit urban, a bit grown up.  This outfit could be worn out for drinks easily.  But it's so comfortable.

Oh and one more thing - the jeans are perfectly high-waisted, you must tuck the front of the shirt in.  This gives your waist definition and keeps the culottes from overpowering the whole look.

So in honor of bringing back our 4-way feature Jenn and I are sharing some rarely known facts about each other.  This was my bright idea and I don't actually know what Jenn is going to share.  Oh dear.

On our outings and adventures there is a lot of laughter and a lot of silliness, but did you know...

1.  Whenever it's Jenn's turn to drive, on her way to pick me up she always texts me "do you have water?"
2.  One time we spilled tomato soup down the heater vent in her non-mini van a.k.a. not the mom car, because we just couldn't pass up the free food trucks at an event we went to.
3.  Most of the time I have no memory on my cell phone and I have to use Jenn's for all pictures.
4.  Jenn refuses to buy "functional" clothing items, except when it comes to shoes she is more of a function fanatic.  Go figure.  It has been my mission to get her to buy a raincoat.  Hello, we live in the Pacific Northwest.  And she's a double soccer mom.  She's usually fashionably soaking wet.
5.  Our little boys are best buddies.
6.  We shop the same retails stores yes, same grocery stores nope.
7.  Jenn makes really good cookies, which she actually owes me a batch.
8.  We adamantly disagree on comfortable underwear.
9.  Jenn takes pride in her last minute outfit decisions, she's got serious talent and an amazing closet, but if we are late it's her fault.
10.  Between the two of us, she is definitely the nicer one.
