this weekend can't get here fast enough

This week has been a doozy.  Somehow I think if I can just get to the weekend, none of that carries forward right?  Or at least I can put on a big blanket of a sweater and feel cozy and hugged on all day long.

So I also tried to make homemade nutella, did you know Feb 5th was world nutella day?  The flavor was fabulous but the texture was wrong.  I still managed to slather it onto homemade bread my sister in law made.  This is another reason for a big chunky sweater, nothing goes better with homemade nutella and homemade bread.  

We also ate our vegetables too,  this salad, it was soooo good.  I have a fennel obsession right now.  And I added goat cheese.

the golden gorilla jacket and wrinkles. {what i wore}

I love this jacket.  I don't love this outfit.  

But I'm posting this one anyways.  I'm not excited about this outfit.  Don't we all have those days, when we don't love what we are wearing.  I will completely admit, that my outfit, or how I feel about my outfit totally reflects my mood and confidence.   for better or for worse.  

Also, I admit, I almost upgraded my picmonkey to edit out those wrinkles.  I even previewed what it looked like to do a little eraser on the face.  It is really amazing what a little airbrushing can do to those lines.  wow.

but I am too cheap.  and I, although YES I obviously choose my best, most flattering pictures to share, am trying to be really real and me.  We are so critical of each other and more so ourselves.

I really love this quote "don't compare your behind the scenes to somebody else's highlight reel."  right?  its hard, and shocking to believe, I have this many wrinkles.  I look at those laugh lines {such a better term than crows feet, seriously} and I am shocked.  But today I am just going to go with that those are there because I have laughed, a lot.

And lost a lot of sleep, from two darling children.

And have many wonderful memories playing outdoors in the sunshine.

And should probably drink more water.

And I am lucky enough to be getting older.  Today would be my moms 56th birthday.  Man I would love to see the wrinkles on her beautiful face.

My husbands darling grandpa is 92 years old and his kidneys are failing, this is the last days of his life.  His wife is sleeping at night with him, snuggled in his hospital bed, after 71 years of marriage they still can't be apart.  His children have hardly left his side.  Many friends and family are loving and praying for him.  He has many wrinkles, they tell the story of an amazing legacy, of a life lived and a dearly loved husband, dad, grandpa, friend, man.  Gosh we love you Grandpa Duck.

its not my motorcycle but it makes my boots look cool right?

is anyone else feeling like this has been a really long week?  

I have always loved fridays, the anticipation of the weekend ahead.  at this stage in my life fridays look a whole lot like skillet pizza and big bowl of popcorn, happily squished on the couch with my little pj clad wriggle worms and my best friend, watching either robin hood or wallE {the only thing that stops them from wriggling}, and considering it a small victory if I stay awake past 10 o'clock.

  

its pretty awesome.  

my outfit - do you know the Old Navy rockstar skinny jeans.  they wear so well, this is my first pair, I am amazed at how well they hold their shape and I love the choice of colors and the price.  if you are nervous of the skinny jean or colored denim, start here.  tunic, seen here and here, yep its a fave.  and my new moto jersey jacket.  here's whats great, its light weight jersey, hello socal solarvortex, I am having serious jacket envy from the rest of the country.  and I bought my favorite booties in black since they are now 50% off.  seriously.  thank you Jenn {yep she's blogging now} for the tip.  Lastly I layered in a bunch of gold necklaces and a pop of a cooler green color for the earring, all made by me but not on the website, I'm sorry I feel like a broken record with "not available yet".  what do you think?

leopard in the streets {what i wore}

I look at these outift pictures and I can't help but think how much better a pair of burgundy colored pumps, or red, would look.  they would make this outfit.  I have way more shoes than I need, yet not the right pair.

this is the nature of fashion, what I love.hate.get excited.despise.

there is always going to be something just.a.little.bit.better

so its all in moderation, having a budget, being disciplined, not buying every wonderful thing you see.  can you imagine those people with endless shopping budgets.  I wonder if they would still get the same thrill from an amazing shoe sale.  or finding that perfect pair of denim on sale.  like these leopard jeans that I spotted for 75% off at Anthropologie!  oh the victory.

so for now I will ponder my bright hued shoes, and keep an eye on the sales for that perfect pair.
